Background Low back pain is associated with substantial direct (eg, cost of medical care) and
indirect (eg, lost productivity due to time off work) costs.
Objective To evaluate the clinical and economic effects among patients who were given TENS
for chronic low back pain compared with a matched group of patients who were not
given TENS, both prior to intervention and at 1-year follow-up.
